Being in business can be lonely, right?

Which is why I'm such a big fan of networking.

Whether it's online or in-person, I actually love it. I even get up at 6am every Thursday morning for an in-person networking meeting in my local area. Nuts, right?

It's funny, it's only since I started working for myself that I enjoy networking, I wonder why. I hated it when I was a younger woman and I don’t always love networking with men of a certain age who, I’m sorry to say, can be a bit dismissive in an old-fashioned, parochial way.

That said, I am a bit advocate of making sure you find a great group of people to support you, when you run your own business.

And the best way to find the right people? Going to in-person events.

Which is why I wanted to share with you one of the best events I have been to in the past couple of years and I have just bought my ticket for next year.

I am heading to ATOMICON 2025 in Newcastle and the line up has just been announced - it’s epic!

We’re talking speakers and celebs like Seth Godin, Rory Sutherland (who?), Saira Khan (ex UK Apprentice runner up), Carrie Green, founder of the Female Entrepreneur Association and more.

Rory Sutherland is the vice chairman of the Ogilvy & Mather group of companies, so I think it’s safe to say he knows a thing or two about running a business.

If you haven’t heard of ATOMICON…it’s one of Europe’s largest Small Business Growth Conferences. It takes place every June in Newcastle. I missed this year's one due to my son's final school exams, but I have just bought my ticket for 2025.
