Stock that Rock!
It’s over four years since I wrote one of my very first blog posts about where to find good, free stock images for your website. I thought it was time to update the list! However, before I send you off elsewhere to have fun perusing all the stunning images for your website that are out there, let me reiterate what I say to all my clients - custom photography is really what will make your website stand out from the crowd. Yes, photos of you, your team, your products. Photos that really give your clients an idea of who they will be working with. Of course video on your website is even better (I confess to not having taken the leap yet!), but if that’s still too daunting - invest in some professional photography, it will be one of the best investments in your business that you will make. After all, if you want clients to invest in your business, you need to invest in yourself first.
If you’d like to get some custom photography done for your website, please get in touch and I will connect you with some photographers that will transform your site!
Right, thus endeth that lesson!
In the meantime, if you still need stock photos, here’s an updated list of websites you might want to try, in no particular order. You may of course see some of the same photos on each site, that’s because the photographers sell their work to multiple platforms. Still, there are enough images out there for everyone. My advice for your website is to find a photographer that you like and use images just by him/her. This means there will be consistency of style across all your images, hopefully a style that gels well with your own branding and visual identity. By having consistency in look and feel of your photography, your website will be more beautiful and pleasing to the eye. A mix of black and white/whimsical/arty/corporate images is likely to jarr and will not make your brand look professional.
