Kajabi SEO - 7 Tips for optimising your Kajabi site for SEO
Kajabi SEO practices are similar to those for any conventional website. However, here are some Kajabi-specific tips to ensure your site is more likely to be found by Google and other search engines:
All Kajabi sites include a dedicated SEO and Sharing section, for both pages and blog posts. It is important to use this area of each page or blog posts to determine the page title, description and page image that will show up below this page url on the Google search results pages.
Change the page title so it includes relevant keywords. These will align your page for improved ranking.
2. Customise your page URLS, but keep them short and precise and with each word separated by a -. For example, your url might be www.yourdomain.com/10-tips-for-SEO-optimisation
3. Page structure. Again, this goes for any website. Google likes Kajabi website pages to follow a certain structure, with your h1 heading at the top of the page and sub-headings (h2s and h3s) appearing further down the page creating clearly outlined content, that is easy to scan and digest.
4. Create consistent, useful content on your Kajabi blog. Google’s aim is to provide the answers to people’s search queries. If you put your audience’s needs at the front of your mind when you are deciding what to write about or create a video about, you are more likely to be found on Google by people searching for your services. The more content you create, the more words, literally, you are putting on the internet for Google to find. No content, no words, no SEO!
5. Create content clusters and links between relevant pieces of content. Google likes to see people hanging around on your website. This indicates that your site is useful, easy to navigate and that readers are sticking around. So, by creating links between relevant pieces of content, you are inviting people to read more interesting content and, therefore, stick around!
6. Get backlinks. Google loves backlinks. What are backlinks? These are links from other websites to yours. For example, if you write a guest blog on someone else’s website and put a link to your own website at the bottom of the article, that creates a backlink to your own site. The more traffic that comes from other, hopefully high-ranking websites, to yours, the higher your chances of getting ranked on Google.
7. Upload a new sitemap to Google every few months. Your Kajabi website has its own sitemap that you should upload to Google Search Console every so often, particularly if there is a lot of new content on your site. This signals to the search engines that you have new pages that you would like to have scrawled and, hopefully, ranked. It’s good to know that with Kajabi's latest update your landing pages are now included in your sitemap! To upload a new sitemap to Google, go to Google Search Console, click on sitemaps on the left hand menu :
And where it says Add new sitemap, add your full domain name followed by /sitemap.xml and then click Submit
How long til your new Kajabi site is found on Google?
You might be wondering how long it will take for your new Kajabi site to rank on Google.
Once you’ve indexed your site with Google by uploading your sitemap, it will take a few weeks before the search spiders start finding your site. In the meantime, get a pen and piece of paper and start a list of all the questions your customers have about your product and service and plan your next ten blog posts. Consistent blogging is probably my number 1 tip to being found on Google.
